The Juniata County Courthouse Maintenance Department is responsible for the upkeep of all county property and equipment.
Some of the functions of the maintenance department are to inspect, test, repair and maintain mechanical systems in all County owned buildings which include the Courthouse, County Prison, H. Brown Fry Building, Courthouse Annex, Bousum Building, and the Barn Storage Area.
The Maintenance Department also provides janitorial duties for County owned buildings and vehicles as well as handling mail, mowing grass, planting flowers, mulching, painting, cleaning gutters, changing air filters, building and repair of carpentry projects, replacing light bulbs, shoveling snow and sweeping debris from sidewalks and parking areas.
There are currently three full-time employees in the Maintenance Department. Additionally, Trustees that are in the work-release program at the Juniata County Prison, when permitted by the Warden and Probation and Parole, assist the Maintenance Department.
